Gus Vandermeeren

Gus Vandermeeren, a computer programmer at Meredith College in our hometown of Raleigh, NC, was already connected with our family via a NextDoor group, called Citizens For Clean Communities. He leads litter clean-ups in South Raleigh while we do so in North Raleigh. Despite collection efforts of our large family plus volunteers we recruit, his collection efforts dwarf our own. He has picked up 2,000 large bags of trash over the past 15 months and thankfully, received some excellent media attention. We hope his efforts and notoriety will advance the cause not to litter and to help with the clean-up. Let’s all get on the bus with Gus! See some of Gus’ media coverage here and here.
